We are delighted to announce that we have formally achieved certification in ISO 14001 and related standards for environmental management. This continues our commitment to work to support a net zero NHS by 2045.
What is ISO14001?
ISO14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to. It maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.
Designed for any type of organisation, regardless of its activity or sector, it can assure company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
Taking care of our environment, and preventing it from causing negative impacts on the environment, are two of the most important challenges facing businesses today.
What We Have Done So Far
The achievement of formal ISO 14001 certification is an important recognition that our standardised practices are making a difference. They are driving the effort to minimise our organisation’s carbon footprint and environmental impact. This includes infrastructure measures, such as dedicated bins for waste and recycling, reduction targets for energy usage, and carbon trading to offset the carbon that we produce.
“This certification reflects a lot of hard work by our team and a real commitment to sustainability,” says Julian Coe, Joint Managing Director of X-on Health “Delivering Net Zero health care is a key priority of the NHS, and having a robust and certified environmental management system in place supports and reinforces our conviction to implement best practices to exceed the expectations of all of our stakeholders. “
By obtaining this certification, we have taken a significant step towards reducing our environmental footprint and demonstrating our commitment to sustainability. But we won’t stop there.
We’re excited to continue our journey and look forward to exploring new ways to improve our environmental performance.
In 2022, we signed up with Ecologi, the UK’s leading all-in-one climate platform. Through this, we aim to reduce 4.5 tonnes of carbon footprint per employee and offset our carbon through planting trees and supporting their environmental projects around the globe. - ISO 223001 is an internationally recognised standard that defines business continuity management and overall risk management and resilience in a business continuity framework.
- Cyber Essentials Plus is a government-backed scheme that ensures organisations have implemented security measures in their networks, devices, and IT infrastructure to guard against the most common cyber security threats and demonstrate commitment to cyber security.
