Cleobury Mortimer Medical Centre are a small general practice with more than 7,000 patients and nearly 30 staff members in Kidderminster, offering specialist clinics in Anti-coagulation Services, Rheumatology Services, Respiratory Clinics, Diabetes Clinics, Family Planning, Antenatal, Baby and Children's Clinics, Immunisations and Minor Surgery.
Cleobury Mortimer wanted to be able to flexibly integrate their patient and staff communications with their EMIS Web clinical system. Mark Dodds, Practice Manager at Cleobury Mortimer Medical Centre "wanted EMIS integration. We were looking for a system that enabled us to easily make changes to configuration with a supportive, effective support service."
Mark wanted to ensure that a new communications system would allow staff complete control over how their calls were handled, including "utilisation of managing groups, allowing admin/reception team members to opt in/out as and when necessary to provide efficient call management" and with all activity integrated into the EMIS records.
Surgery Connect fully integrates with EMIS Web, providing full control over call flow and handling while synchronising with patient data to ensure accurate records are kept. Calls can also be recorded, with authorised access to the encrypted recordings available from the patient record, thereby providing staff with a complete history of patient interactions.
Call handling features such as Call Groups has allowed the practice to fully utilise available staff when demand dictates. Mark says "being able to use and edit the group details has enabled us to add users that work upstairs in admin to help out with reception at busy times, or when staffing levels are low."
